Location tracking

GeoWork allows members of a project to share the location of their devices on the project’s Base Layer / map.

Location can be shared:

  • In real time, showing the current position on the map
  • As a recorded path, which can be saved and viewed later within the project

This feature is called location tracking.

Location tracking is fully controlled by the user whose location is being shared:

  • It can be enabled or disabled at any time
  • It cannot be activated without the user’s knowledge or consent

When enabled, the user can also choose to record their movement. Each recorded session is saved in the location history log sessions.

Enable the function in the project

Before location tracking can be used, it must be enabled for the project.

To enable it:

  1. Go to the Features enabled section in the project settings
  2. Turn on the "Location sharing" switch

If disabled, the feature will not be available to any project members.
