Resource groups

Resource groups are used to organize markers into logical collections based on permanent or long-term relationships.

While marker states describe the current condition or status of a marker (which may change over time), resource groups serve a different purpose. They are intended to group markers based on shared characteristics that are stable and not expected to change frequently.

For example:

  • Markers belonging to the same category (e.g. construction sites, inspection points)
  • Markers related to the same project phase or objective
  • Markers that logically belong together regardless of their current state

A marker does not need to belong to any group, but it can be assigned to one if needed.

Create resource groups

Resource groups are created in the Groups settings section of the project settings.

To create a resource group:

  1. Go to the Groups settings section in the project settings
  2. Navigate to the Resource groups subsection
  3. Click the Create new group button
  4. Enter a name for the group in the "Name" textbox
  5. (Optional) Configure permissions for roles within the group
  6. Press the Save group button
info

For more details, please refer to the Groups settings section of the project settings.

Put a marker in a group

Markers can be assigned to resource groups through the marker interface.

To assign a marker to a group:

  1. Select a marker on the map or from the markers list
  2. In the marker UI window, click the Change group button
  3. Select the desired resource group from the list
  4. Confirm the selection
  5. The marker is now part of the selected group.

See groups and their contents

Resource groups are visible in the Markers tab of the project functions sidebar.

Within the markers list:

  • Each resource group appears as a separate entry
  • Markers assigned to a group are displayed under that group
  • Grouped markers are visually offset (shifted to the right) to indicate hierarchy

This structure makes it easier to navigate and manage markers based on their grouping.
