Archived markers
When a marker is deleted — either through the markers list or through the marker UI — it is not immediately and permanently removed.
Instead, it is first archived.
Archiving acts as a safety step between deletion and permanent removal. When a marker is deleted, it is removed from the active project view but remains stored within the project. This allows it to be restored later if the deletion was accidental or if it is needed again.
Archived markers are:
- Still stored within the same project
- Not visible by default
- Not editable or interactable (except for restore or permanent deletion)
See archived markers
Archived markers are hidden by default in the markers list and must be enabled manually. They are not displayed on the map either.
To display archived markers:
- Open the markers tab of the project functions sidebar
- Scroll to the bottom of the markers list
- Check the Archived markers checkbox
- Archived markers will appear below the checkbox in the list
To hide archived markers again:
- Go to the same location
- Uncheck the Archived markers checkbox
- The archived markers will no longer be displayed
For more details, please refer to the Markers tab of the project functions sidebar.
Archived marker UI
When selecting an archived marker, its UI is different from a regular marker.
Since archived markers cannot be edited, only two actions are available:
- Restore marker
- Permanently delete
Restore marker
Archived markers can be restored back into the project.
When restored, the marker returns to its original state and behaves like a normal marker again. The only difference may be a record in its history log indicating when and by whom it was restored.
To restore a marker:
- Open the markers tab
- Enable Archived markers if not already visible
- Select the archived marker from the list
- Click the Restore marker button
- The marker is returned to the project
Permanently delete
Archived markers can be permanently deleted if they are no longer needed.
This action removes the marker and all of its associated data from the project permanently.
To permanently delete a marker:
