Create a Marker
In order to create a Marker, a user must first be granted the permission to do so.
"Add Marker" button
Inside a project there is a button in the bottom right-corner [DOPLN OBRAZEK]. Clicking this button displays multiple buttons, each providing a different option for adding a marker. These options may vary depending on the device on which GeoWork is running and the project settings. These are all the options that can appear:
-
- Create marker from current location
-
- Create marker from gallery photo
-
- Create marker from camera
-
- Create marker from arbitrary position
-
- Generate marker from QR code Please follow the instructions below to use each option.
1. Create marker from current location
The purpose of this button is to create a Marker at the location where the device is currently located using GPS technology.
- Upon pressing the button, a blue notification may appear at the top of the screen stating, "Getting your location...".
- After the device location is determined, GeoWork requires the selection of the state of the marker. Please select one of the available states from the displayed list.
- Once a state is selected, a marker becomes visible on the map at the exact location of the device at the time of creation.
Markers retain their original position unless they are moved. To track a device on the map in real time, refer to [location] tracking.
2. Create marker from gallery photo
The purpose of this button is to create a Marker at the location where an exact photo was taken. The location of the photo is obtained from the Exif standard embedded in the image.
- Upon pressing the button, the device's file explorer may open. Navigate through the file explorer to find the photo from which the marker should be created, select it, and press the confirmation button (Done/Open/...).
- When the confirmation button is clicked, a blue notification may appear at the top of the screen stating, "Getting your location...".
- After the device location is determined, GeoWork requires the selection of the state of the marker. Please select one of the available states from the displayed list.
- Once a state is selected, a marker becomes visible on the map at the exact location where the photo was taken.
Not every image format or device supports this feature, which may prevent some users from obtaining the original location of the photo.
In such cases, a marker is created at the current location of the device, and the image is attached in the comments.
