Use marker states

Marker states can be used on any marker inside any project. Markers can be flagged under a state / sub-state during the creation process, or while interacting with a marker.

While creating a marker

When creating a marker using any available option, GeoWork always requires a state to be selected. If a user does not wish to assign a specific state to the marker, the "Default" state can be used.

  1. Follow the creation process, depending on the chosen option, until the state selection step appears

  2. Select the desired state

  3. If the selected state contains sub-states:

    A) choosing the first option assigns only the root state without a sub-state

    B) a sub-state can be selected from the displayed list if desired

For existing markers

As it is required to select a marker state during the creation process of a marker, no marker can exist without being flaged under a state. Users can change the state of an existing marker unlimited times.

  1. Select a specific marker whichs' state you want to change

  2. Use the "Change state" button

  3. Select a state from the pop up list

  4. If the selected state contains sub-states:

    A) choosing the first option assigns only the root state without a sub-state

    B) a sub-state can be selected from the displayed list if desired
